At Akshara Manèy, we celebrate a hands-on, nature-centric way of learning that encourages children to embrace independence and develop essential life skills. Children who are accustomed to managing their personal hygiene, sitting comfortably on the floor during group activities, and eating independently (often without cutlery) tend to adapt more easily to our environment.
We also value active participation in daily chores, such as serving food, tidying up, gardening, and even helping with basic cleaning tasks like sweeping and mopping. These activities nurture a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and connection with their surroundings.
Additionally, we encourage children to manage their belongings, dress themselves (like tying shoelaces and buttoning shirts), and build resilience for physical activities and outdoor exploration. Adjusting to peer dynamics and contributing to the team spirit of the class further enriches their experience here.
For families transitioning from more structured or traditional educational settings, this may feel like a shift, but we see it as an exciting journey toward self-sufficiency and growth.
At Akshara Manèy, we aim to create an environment where children thrive through curiosity, collaboration, and connection with the natural world.
We welcome children from diverse backgrounds and with diverse learning needs.
We recognise that children learn in different ways and at different rhythms. Our intention is to create an environment where learning can take place without fear, pressure, or comparison.
At the same time, the nature of our campus, our classroom ratios and our current resources require us to be thoughtful and responsible in our admissions process.
Children with learning differences, attention-related challenges, or on the neurodiverse spectrum are encouraged to apply. Admission, however, is based on a careful process of understanding whether the school is presently able to meet the child’s needs in a meaningful and supportive way.
This process is guided by dialogue, observation, and mutual clarity rather than labels alone.
